This quilt was made for my daughters pre-k class. The class was to make something for the school auction in October to raise money for the school. We decided to make a quilt with all the hand-prints of the whole class! It was a LOT of work and a LOT of fun designing and creating this quilt for them. I made up the design myself and planned the details. My mom Dianne graciously came up and stayed a week to help with the big project. She actually stitched together all the tiny pieces of the front. I painted and printed the hands (with help) and did all the cutting and design and free-motion quilting. This quilt took 2 weeks from start to finish. Below are lots of pictures of this quilting process. The paint I used was AWESOME for this project. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a professional fabric paint. The paint is called Jacquard Fabric Paint.
* This quilt went to auction locally on Friday, October 22, 2010. It sold for.....$600! Wow, thanks everyone!!!
* I made an updated picture below with all the hand prints labeled with names. Find your child’s handprint! I really enjoyed making this quilt with your kids! Thanks :)
